Mr. Sun ("the App") is a solar position utility for iOS developed by Elektrodactyl. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Collect

None. Mr. Sun does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. The App operates entirely on your device.

On-Device Data

The App creates and stores the following data locally on your device:

Your most recent location, stored as latitude/longitude with a label, so the App can restore your last view at launch. You can clear or change this at any time from the Location screen.
Preferences such as whether to re-detect your location on launch and whether the compass is active, stored using on-device storage.

Uninstalling the App removes all stored data.

Permissions

The App requests the following permissions, which you can revoke at any time in iOS Settings:

Location (When In Use) — used to center the sun calculation on where you are. Location is only requested when the App is open and you've asked for "current location"; it is never tracked in the background.
Motion & Heading — used by the optional compass mode to rotate the sky map to match the direction you're facing. The App never records or transmits motion data.

Third-Party Services

Mr. Sun does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. Maps are rendered by Apple's MapKit and reverse-geocoding (city / region names) is performed by Apple's CLGeocoder, both subject to Apple's privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect data from children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, there is no age-specific concern.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
